The Product Owner is a member of an Agile Team that represents the voice of the customer. This is an important role responsible for responsibility and decision-making in the development of products.

  • Responsibilities: Working with the Product Manager and other stakeholders (including other Product Owners and the team) to define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog.
  • Goal: Ensuring the solution effectively addresses customer and business needs while maintaining technical integrity.
  • Context: Our business unit has a product vision, strategy, and a 3-year roadmap. The success of the roadmap and strategy is based on multiple product initiatives being successful. This role will play a key role in ensuring this success.
  • Market Insight: He or she will understand the customers and potential customers, as well as the wider industry.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Roadmap and Planning

  • Ownership: Owning the 1-3-month roadmap across KLI's product portfolio, including discovery, design, and delivery, by working with the right team members and stakeholders.
    Agile Cadence: Participating in Agile/SAFe cadence to progress towards business/PI objectives as laid out per the product vision and roadmap.
  • Planning: Participating in mission and PI briefings as part of SAFe agile planning and picking up requirements for the team. Participating in PI planning, sprint planning, and team ceremonies.
  • Demos: Leading PI/Sprint demos of new product development toward internal stakeholders.
  • Delivery Preparation: Leading Week start meetings to get initiatives ready for delivery and PIs.

Backlog and Requirement Management

  • Prioritization & Management: Backlog prioritization & management.
  • Requirements: Gathering and prioritizing product requirements based on customer, stakeholder feedback, data, and market research.
  • User Stories: Writing user stories and bringing them to be ready for PI planning. Making user stories ready for sprint planning.
  • Team Backlog: Prioritizing the team backlog.
  • Process Improvement: Reviewing and improving the process of backlog management across the product portfolio.

Communication and Risk Management

  • Communication: Communicating the product vision, roadmap, and PI goals to stakeholders and team members.
  • Main Contact: Acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders, addressing queries, and providing updates on product development progress.
  • Progress Monitoring: Overseeing and reporting on roadmap progress and performance metrics.
  • Risks: Identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks as needed.
  • Documentation: Providing insights and documentation of project requirements and scopes.

Product Delivery and Improvement

  • Independent Management: Managing product roadmap schedules and product delivery independently.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • User Value: Ensuring user value by conducting business acceptance at the user story level. Helping with user validation of features.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Supporting with data analytics on features and customers related to the usage of our product and its features to inform the future product roadmap.
  • Product Performance: Continuously evaluating product performance and implementing improvements.
  • Support (Keeping the lights on): Supporting with issues and bugs management as part of the backlog management across our product portfolio.

Other Duties

  • Supporting with managing vendors involved with product development.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor towards advancing the product vision and strategy.

Functie-eisen

Education* Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent. * Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager) are a plus. * Continuous learning in product management methodologies and industry trends.
Experience* At least 5 years of experience as an Agile Product Owner. * A proven track record of successful product ownership of a software or web product portfolio. * Managing large, complex initiatives to transform ways of working and tech platforms in a high-tech development environment with multi-functional teams following SAFe/Scrum methodologies. * Proven experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with development teams. * Demonstrated success in defining and delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs. * Experience in market research, user testing, and gathering customer feedback.

Additional Knowledge (Beneficial but not necessarily required)

* Knowledge in the development of research applications. * Knowledge in the domain of legal tech. * Knowledge of SOLR search engine and search use cases.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-centric mindset. * Profound knowledge of the agile way of working. * Very good team player and interaction skills. * Ability to work independently and naturally curious. * Excellent oral and written communications skills in English. * Familiarity with data analytics tools like Google Analytics, Pendo. * Proficient with team communication applications (Slack, MS Teams, etc.). * Comfortable with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
✈️ Travel Requirements and Work Environment
Travel: Occasional travel may be required (<10%).

Work Environment: A combination of working remotely with an office environment. We work in our office 2 days in a week.
