As a researcher, you will join a strategic research team within one of the TNO-ESI research projects. Your focus will be on exploring new capabilities for software-intensive, high-tech systems and applications. You will spend most of your time working on the customer's premises.
You will be part of the Embedded Systems Innovation (ESI) research group, specializing in model-based system engineering. In this role, you will research, develop, and apply state-of-the-art techniques to create model-based methodologies and embed them within the organizations of our industry partners.
ESI is an open and diverse research center hosted by TNO, with strong partnerships with leading high-tech companies. They address the increasing complexity faced by the high-tech industry by developing new methods and techniques for system design and engineering. ESI offers specific programs for innovation support and competence development for system architects and senior engineers.
Your work will involve developing model-based system engineering methodologies to design, analyze, predict, optimize, and diagnose high-tech systems. Examples include:
- A model-based performance engineering methodology to design and optimize the dimensioning of a next-generation system and ensure it supports the customer's workflow and use cases.
- A model-based approach to remove technical debt from a system, for instance, by rejuvenating legacy codebases.

Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Data Science or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with software maintenance and working with legacy software code bases
- Experience or interest in different languages amongst others C++, C#, JAVA
- Preferably, you have experience with the Eclipse Modeling Framework, including technologies like Ecore, Xtext, and Sirius

Arbeidsvoorwaarden
We offer a challenging position in which you can work in a dynamic environment, guaranteeing diversity in your work and creating plenty of opportunities for personal development. It concerns a secondment agreement at TNO in Eindhoven via Yacht for one year, with possibility of extension; for 40 hours per week (working on site).
We offer a competitive package of employment conditions according to the seniority of the position (salary between €3500 - €6000 -gross per period of 4 weeks, based on 40 h per week).
