Ready to make an impact in the aerospace industry? We're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer Assembly to join the team of GKN Fokker in Papendrecht (the Netherlands), and to help them build the next generation of landing gear components.
In this role, you will be a vital part of the Assembly team of GKN Fokker, ensuring the smooth production of parts for some of the world’s most iconic aircraft. Your work will directly contribute to the safety of everyone who relies on their products in flight.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Supporting operational deliveries by preparing and managing product documentation.
- Improving processes by analyzing production characteristics.
- Resolving and managing non-conformities and defining temporary production instructions.
- Driving continuous improvement through Lean initiatives.
- Developing and integrating technical solutions while upholding a safety-first mindset.
Furthermore:
- Overseeing the development of first articles, configuration changes, and build processes.
- Utilizing root cause analysis to eliminate non-conformances.
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure success.

Job requirements
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Aerospace
- 10+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably with some experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Experience in machining processes and in managing (new) Product / Process introduction (industrialization) & existing production process improvements.
- Experience with Low volume production of high quality vehicles manufacturing processes
Competenties
Other Competences
- Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
- Working knowledge of LEAN processes and practices.
- Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationship within a global organization.
- Quality driven and strong documentation / reporting skills.
- Working knowledge of machining processes (milling, mill-turn, boring, honing) and of surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, shot-peen, NDI) would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English, both in writing & speaking.
- Engineers with a background in medical assembly (e.g., experience with MRI scanners) would also be a good fit for this role

It concerns a secondment agreement at GKN Fokker Aerospace BV via Yacht for 1 year, with possibility of extension and a permanent contract at the company after the first year.
We offer a competitive salary, between €4.800 and 6.200,- per month based on 40 h per week)
Full-time (40 h p/w preferred; 32-36 h p/w is discussible)
Start date: October 2025
