We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation and Verification Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the full lifecycle of product and system development, from initial design and test strategy definition to on-site commissioning and long-term maintenance. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, functionality, and regulatory compliance of our innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and commission automation and control system changes. This includes developing new test methods, creating test strategies, and defining and executing test protocols.
- Verification & Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, protocols, and validation documents to ensure all systems meet both functional and non-functional requirements (including performance, reliability, and security). You will also be responsible for documenting all test results and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Documentation & Compliance: Create and maintain system lifecycle documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Ensure all activities adhere to Good Documentation Practices and industry-specific regulations.
- Project Management & Collaboration: Lead and coordinate activities with internal teams, external vendors, and subcontractors. Review product requirements and designs from a testing perspective, and manage project scope, requirements, and risk.
- System Maintenance: Provide expert-level maintenance and ongoing support for automation systems, including remote monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies.
Functie-eisen
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional engineering experience in a highly regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, or BMS/EMS platforms.
- Expertise in creating, reviewing, and optimizing test designs, reusable test protocols, and test procedures.
- Strong understanding of control philosophies, P&IDs, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, with a strong focus on Design and Product Verification.
- Excellent communication, planning, and execution skills.
- Strong analytical and structured thinking with a hands-on mentality.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site commissioning and support.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal), Dutch is a Plus.
- VCA and NEN 3140 certifications (mandatory).
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team.

- Requires a highly structured approach to both verification and commissioning and automation.
- Must be able to design comprehensive test plans, analyze test results to identify root causes of failures, and logically document their findings.
- Ensuring the integrity and reliability of the systems and products.
- The candidate must understand the importance of Good Documentation Practices, validation protocols, and adhering to strict quality and safety standards throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- GxP, GAMP, and ISO standards, a strong competency in operating within a highly regulated environment is essential.
- The role requires a self-driven individual who can adapt to changing project requirements and take full ownership of their responsibilities, from test design to on-site issue resolution
