Studentbuddy (International)

ONLY FOR HOGESCHOOL INHOLLAND STUDENTS

At the Student Success Centre (SSC), student buddies work to support fellow students by referring them to the appropriate services within Inholland’s support network, answering student questions, assisting with planning, motivation, and more. Overall, you help your fellow students enhance their well-being and contribute to a positive study experience. In addition, student buddies help increase the visibility of the SSC.

A student buddy working at the SSC is assertive, social, independent, enthusiastic, and flexible. He, she, or they are not afraid to start a conversation or give a presentation. Each student buddy has a specific additional task alongside their regular duties, which take place at the SSC for a minimum of 4 hours per week.

As an international student, you know that studying abroad can be challenging. To contribute to the wellbeing of international Inholland students, we are looking for new international student buddies!

• Assistance

As an international buddy, for example your will:
- Organize workshops about topics that international students often are concerned about: finances, accommodation, the labour market, etc.;
- Organize a welcome event in September for all new first year international students;
- Organize the pick up days for new international students: welcome them at the airport, explain the public transport and guide them to their accommodation (every semester, the week before classes start);
- Assist during the introduction days for exchange students: join an excursion to Amsterdam, organize games for the students to get to know each other, inform them about living in the Netherlands (every semester, the week before classes start)

You will be part of the Student Success Centre: a centre run for and by students. Therefore, you will also work shifts during opening hours. During your shifts, you are there for students walking in with questions, and work on future events.

- An international student;
- Someone who likes to take initiative and has ideas on how to improve international student wellbeing;
- Someone that is independent, enthusiastic, flexible, approachable and well organised;
- Available for 4 hours a week (more during the pick up days and introduction days)?
