We are looking for an experienced Lead Merchant, to lead the Kids Sportswear business in the Partner Merchandising team.

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible (latest end of August). It's a temporary role for 40 hours a week till mid April 2026. You'll work on a hybrid basis from the European Headquarters in Hilversum.

This role will be the voice of the consumer, product and story telling for the Kids marketplace. This is a dynamic role, working with real time insights to react to short term opportunities, as well as input into the longer term line planning for future consumer needs. This role will require an entrepreneurial ‘Just do it’ attitude to bring the mission and vision to life.

You need to thrive working within a complex environment and with multiple Athletic Specialty and Sporting Goods partners, consumers and countries. You will have a proven record of driving structure and clarity around processes, will be confident in working through ambiguity and will take initiative to explore new ways of working. As a result, you will need to be a phenomenal teammate, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively prioritize in line with the short- and long-term priorities.

  • Extensive level of Merchandising, Buying and or Sales, demonstrating a high level of business, retail and merchandising acumen;
  • Consumerist mindset with strong product knowledge and an analytical mindset. You will clear understanding of the total EMEA marketplace, from bricks and mortar to online retail;
  • Proven track record of delivering results and driving clear and distinct strategies both externally and internally;
  • Account facing experience, paired with strong influencing skills will be an advantage;
  • Excellent story telling and product expertise, along with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, in order to succeed in a multi-faced, cross-functional role. Structured and organized approach;
  • Positive, resilient and flexible mindset, able to adapt within a fast-changing and dynamic environment;
  • Solution oriented approach coupled with innovative future thinking mindset.

In this role, you will represent consumer insights, trends, and capacity planning for a group of aggregated partners within the Marketplace CFOP.

If this is you, you’ll be working with multiple functions and collaborators to land the CFOP strategy with the subset of Partners. You will represent the entire marketplace, joining forces with other MPUs and functions on key tasks such as Line Planning, Hind sighting, Trend, and Insights and driving the CFOP strategy across the entire marketplace.
A typical season will focus on advising assortment capacity for Gender / Product Engine that advises our Lead, Play, Adopt model to influence future line planning. You will translate the Geo lead assortments frameworks into consumer right account assortments. You’ll be working with sales, planning, marketing and the account to land the go to market strategy. No two days will be the same, with a constant need to read & react to real time consumer and marketplace insights to improve in season and short-term opportunities.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be working with multiple collaborators in both the NMP and Geo Consumer teams in driving the Kids strategy. You will be an integral part of the Partner CFOP Squad working cross functionally with marketing, sales, and planning.

Partner Merchandising is part of the Merchandising Function. The team's role is to win with consumers through anchoring our strategies in the Consumer X Field of Play (FOP) Offense, creating differentiated retail and marketplace experiences.
