As a Computational Modeling Engineer, you will be a key player within the Innovation and Design community. Your mission is to use advanced "Digital Twins" and simulations to solve complex medical challenges. By leveraging your expertise in (bio)physics and mechanics, you will provide the deep physical insights needed to de-risk innovation and accelerate the development of life-changing medical devices. You won't just be running models; you will be translating high-level physics into actionable design decisions that impact the entire health continuum.
Functie-eisen
- Education: Preferably a PhD in Applied Physics, (Bio)Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
- Technical Core: A solid foundation in physics-based and mechanistic modeling (e.g., solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, multiphysics, or transport phenomena).
- Software Toolkit: Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, Abaqus, Star-CCM+, or OpenFOAM.
- Communication: Proven ability to translate complex simulation data into clear, strategic insights for R&D stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Experience: A track record of applying theoretical modeling to real-world engineering challenges.
Competenties
- Analytical Mindset: You have a natural curiosity and the ability to break down complex physical systems into logical, solvable models.
- Innovative Thinking: You stay ahead of the curve, constantly exploring new modeling methodologies and numerical techniques.
- Technical Ownership: You are proactive and take full responsibility for technical challenges, from initial concept to validation.
- Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment, comfortably sharing knowledge and strengthening the team's collective expertise.
