Join our Lifecycle Management (LCM) team within the Interventional Guided Therapy (IGT) Fixed Systems R&D organization. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring that our world-class X-ray systems remain safe, reliable, and compliant throughout their entire lifecycle.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary environment, bridging the gap between innovative design and rigorous regulatory standards to ensure our installed base and production lines run without disruption.

As a Mechanical Designer in the LCM cluster, you are responsible for the integrity and continuity of our mechanical components and systems. Your core duties include:

  • Lead the maintenance of mechanical components, sub-systems, and 3rd party products to ensure high performance and reliability.
  •  Assure design quality and patient safety by ensuring all products comply with international medical standards and safety regulations.
  • Own the lifecycle of mechanical specifications, requirements, and verification reports, keeping them updated and accurate.
  • Set up and deploy comprehensive test strategies and plans to validate designs against safety standards.
  • Perform hands-on design modeling and technical analysis to solve complex mechanical challenges.
  • Align with electrical, mechatronic, and quality functions, while providing vital support to factory operations and external suppliers.
  • Work successfully within Scrum teams to meet project milestones in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Functie-eisen

To excel in this highly regulated and technical environment, you should bring the following qualifications:

  • Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in a professional engineering environment, with at least 5 years specifically focused on mechanical development and measurement.
  • Proven experience in Lifecycle Management (LCM) and Mechanical Design & Analysis.
  • Previous experience working within the medical device industry (or other highly regulated sectors) is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical testing, verification, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is considered a significant plus.
