Are you a Cloud Engineer with a passion for monitoring, logging, and metrics? Do you want to support dozens of product teams within a major e-commerce landscape by keeping their "eyes and ears" operational? We are looking for an Interim Observability Engineer to join the team.
You will join the Observability and Insights team. This team is responsible for maintaining the alerting, logging, and metrics tools that integrate with GCP/GKE and serve dozens of product and development teams across the organization.
Your goal is twofold: maintain the current stability of the platform and help shape the future of these tools to be more native and intuitive.
- Platform Maintenance & Upgrades: You will own and manage an existing backlog of minor upgrades. You understand the deployment pipelines, merge upgrade requests, monitor builds, perform regression testing, and promote updates to Production.
- Major Infrastructure Projects: You will participate in major infrastructure updates, specifically focusing on ElasticSearch and Grafana.
- Support & Incident Management: You act as the first line of defense during the weekly engineer-on-duty rotation (08:00 – 18:00). You troubleshoot issues, answer questions from internal teams, and triage support requests related to metrics and logging.
- Collaboration: You participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and design discussions to ensure the platform remains stable and scalable.
