Yacht Engineering has a vacancy of Senior Layout Engineer at our client – Canon (in Venlo, the Netherlands).
At Canon, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our products by creating innovative PCB layouts. You'll oversee the entire layout process, from initial concept to full industrialization, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective designs.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Layout Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our R&D efforts. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with electrical designers to define and agree on PCB layout requirements.
- Developing layouts that expertly balance time, quality, performance, accuracy, and cost.
- Partnering with internal R&D teams to achieve optimal designs and layouts.
- Working with production and procurement to successfully industrialize your PCB designs.
- Ensuring all layouts comply with relevant industry standards and staying updated on the latest technological advancements.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Defining planning and priorities for the Layout Team.
- Negotiating and balancing requirements for layout designs.
- Generating PCB layouts and comprehensive documentation.
- Validating assemblies using IPC standards.
- Designing for manufacturing (DFM) and testability (DFT).
- Benchmarking PCBs in close cooperation with the Procurement team.

Job requirements
- MBO++ or Bachelor (Dutch HBO) degree
- Min 10 years of experience, not only with PCB/PCA design, but also with:
o Processing
o Industrialization
o Manufacturing
- Leadership experience (e.g. supervising/managing teams)
- Proficiency with: Signal Integrity; Power Design; Sensor Technology
- Understanding bare board and assembly manufacturing flows
- Knowledge of EMC, EMI, SI, PI aspects of printed circuit boards
- Knowledge of technologies available in the industry like HDI, COB, CSP, Rigid/Flex, Flex design
- Knowledge of international standards, like IPC
- Toolset experience, preferably ZUKEN CR8000 (a pre)

Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Terms of employment

It concerns a secondment agreement at Canon via Yacht for one year, with possibility of extension and permanent contract at the company; for 40 hours per week (working on site).
