Are you passionate about pharmaceutical manufacturing and eager to make an impact on equipment reliability and process improvement? We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled Equipment Engineer – Downstream Processing to join our high-performing team.

In this role, you'll ensure that our production equipment—such as chromatography systems, virus filtration units, and UFDF systems—operates at the highest standards. You’ll support both the introduction of new equipment and the optimization of existing systems, collaborating across departments like Maintenance, Execution Systems, and Quality.

  • Act as a key contributor to the implementation of operational objectives—from new equipment integration to ongoing lifecycle support
  • Support test runs, manage technical documentation, write memos, and coordinate cross-functional efforts for equipment readiness
  • Analyze equipment failures and downtime, identify root causes, and drive effective solutions that minimize disruptions
  • Collect and evaluate performance data to support continuous process improvements
  • Lead improvement initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to address safety, quality, and compliance risks
  • Own the Change Control process, from initiation through execution, for complex system updates

Functie-eisen

  • A completed HBO or WO degree in a relevant field (e.g., biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, biochemistry, biological engineering)
  • Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical equipment and understanding of equipment lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with automation systems such as MES and DeltaV
  • Comfortable working in a GMP-regulated environment with a strong attention to detail
  • A strong mix of practical insight and theoretical knowledge
  • A proactive, responsible, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead within your area of expertise
  • Bonus: Experience with Lean methodologies and project management
