Yacht Engineering has an opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer at Vanderlande Industries B.V. (in Veghel).

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer (Special Design), you'll participate in projects to design specialized solutions that meet the functional requirements of our customers and systems worldwide. You'll create and optimize existing solutions together with your team members within multidisciplinary project teams. You'll have the opportunity to design a tangible product, test and improve it in our Innovation Center or at customer sites, ultimately leaving your "signature" on it.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Create a product concept and design using 3D modeling.
  • Prototype realization and testing in our Innovation Center.
  • Optimize and release designs for production with a quality-oriented mindset.
  • Support internal customers by answering their technical questions, such as those from Supply Chain, Sales, and Project Engineering.
  • You are responsible for mitigating design risks.
  • Contribute to the development of your technical domain.
  • More focus on development, simpler R&D work.

Functie-eisen

  • Completed an MBO-4 (vocational education) or HBO (higher professional education) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience and a strong interest in mechanics, production techniques, and machine construction.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Proficient in FMEA, FEA, CE, and machine development.
  • Preferably someone with Vanderlande experience: SolidWorks, Sheet Metal, Enovia.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and PDM systems.
  • You will have the opportunity to travel abroad (up to 10% of your time).
  • A good command of English is required; Dutch is a big plus.

This is a secondment agreement via Yacht at Vanderlande for one year, with the possibility of extension and a permanent contract with Vanderlande BV.

We offer a competitive benefits package that matches the seniority of the position (salary between €3800 - €5200 gross per 4 weeks, based on 40 hours per week).

Hours per week: 40 hours per week; 36 hours per week is negotiable.
