Software Engineer
Location: Eindhoven
Contract Role for 1 year
Within this role as a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and documenting high-quality embedded software for high-volume consumer products. You’ll play a key role in building reliable, scalable solutions that support our business continuity and drive architectural advancements to enhance throughput and flexibility—particularly with regard to regulatory pathways (e.g., Dekra/FDA).

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in C/C++, adhering to internal coding standards and best practices.
- Estimate development effort and assess runtime requirements.
- Create and execute unit and component-level test cases.
- Actively participate in code reviews and technical walkthroughs.
- Document software design in accordance with project guidelines.
- Identify and drive improvements in the development process.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across disciplines and geographies.
Competenties
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Several years of experience in embedded software development using C/C++, preferably for high-volume consumer products.
- Strong grasp of modern software engineering principles, tools (Git/GitHub), and development methodologies (e.g., Agile, SAFe).
Communication:
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with global suppliers (Asia and Eastern Europe).
Mindset & Skills:
- Proactive, quality-focused, and detail-oriented.
- Technically skilled with a strong sense of ownership.
- Capable of proposing and defending innovative technical solutions.
This position is critical to ensuring the ongoing success of the IPL business. It supports the evolution of our software architecture, aimed at improving development speed, regulatory compliance, and system flexibility.
