Internship - Sustainability in HTA

Are you looking for a challenging internship as a External Affairs (EA) Intern with a close collaboration with the HEMAR team?
This internship focuses on exploring how diverse stakeholders such as patient organisations, policy makers and advocacy groups view sustainability in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in the Dutch context, with
insights aimed at informing EMEA-level discussions and policy decisions. You will work in a
dynamic, international environment where policy, access, and advocacy intersect.

Master’s student in HTA/Health Economics or related fields. Fluency in English and Dutch is needed and available to start in Feebruary.

• Strong communication skills;
• Proactive, self-initiating and able to take responsibility.

This role is designed to give insight into multi-stakeholder policy work rather than focusing
purely on health economics practical experience. You will gain experience in policy analysis,
advocacy engagement, and the strategic positioning of HTA sustainability within a broader
access and policy framework.

• Map and analyse stakeholder perspectives on sustainability in HTA using a Dutch case study as a starting point;
• Conduct literature reviews, stakeholder interviews, and/or surveys;
• Synthesise qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, actionable recommendations;
•  Collaborate not only with HEMAR Netherlands and HEMAR EMEA, but also with GA&P EMEA and GA&P Netherlands, ensuring broad policy connectivity;
•  Prepare reports and insights that can contribute to EU-wide HTA policy.
