Internship - Next-Generation Sequencing for Virus testing

You are a WO Bachelor or Master student in Biotechnology or Bioscience. With an interest in AVA and Mycoplasma testing, you thrive in a high-stakes Quality Control environment where accuracy and compliance are paramount. You are a proactive learner excited by technological advances and the prospect of continuous professional growth within a Centre of Excellence. Whether seeking a practical internship or the possibility to write your thesis, you are ready to embrace our culture of excellence and safety.

• WO student in the fields of molecular biology, biotechnology, virology, microbiology, or related topics;
• You have experience in the lab, preferably in molecular biology (DNA and RNA);
• You have knowledge of MS Office and preferably experience with sequencing data analysis tools (assembly, mapping, blast, database curation, etc.);
•  Able to work independently and ask for help when needed;
•  Good communication skills;
•  High degree of accuracy and organization in the laboratory;
•  Proactive and continuous improvement mindset.

You will work on a project aiming at designing a new QC method to detect viral contamination in
the production process of biological medicines. This method is based on Next-Generation Sequencing
technology.

• Perform experiments in the laboratory;
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all experiment procedures, results and deviations;
• Analyze data and think of new experiments;
• Read scientific literature and gather information about different methods and results;
• Create training materials;
