Laboratory Formulation Scientist

We are looking for an professional for a hands-on scientific role. This is a temporary position (6-month contract) starting July 1st to cover a maternity leave within our specialized technical support team.

Working under the guidance of a Senior Scientist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality formulation expertise. You will also help identify customer needs and product gaps within the personal care sector.

You should have a strong passion for cosmetic science, a precise way of working, and a solid foundation in chemistry. We are looking for an experienced lab professional who is communicative, quality-driven, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:

• Minimum BS in chemistry, or related science, advanced degree preferred
• 2 to 8 years of strong, proven expertise in cosmetic formulation, raw materials, and relative technical evaluation.
• You possess professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• You are confident and proficient in using standard PC software.
• You are a true team player with a positive "can-do" attitude and a strict respect for laboratory procedures.
• You have a personal affinity for the industry, reflected in your regular use of cosmetic products

In this position, your days will be diverse, ranging from active formulation development at the bench to data analysis and collaboration with external partners. Your main objective is to create robust and sustainable formulations while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Developing new prototypes with a focus on haircare products like shampoos, gels, and conditioners.
• Monitoring prototype appearance, sensory attributes, stability, microbiology, and compliance.
• Screening raw materials in formulations and conducting relevant formula-related testing.
• Partnering internally and externally to complete and record all technical testing.
• Preparing technical reports, presentations, and supporting training for sales and distributors.
• Producing and shipping prototype samples to support regional business development.
• Analyzing the competitive landscape to identify customer needs and guide next-generation raw materials.
• Assisting with the daily upkeep and smooth operations of the laboratory.
