For our client's DAF - a major manufacturer of trucks active in the international transport sector - we are looking for a Homologation Engineer | Vehicles.
As a Homologation Engineer, you are responsible for every step of the type approval process. This includes component and system approvals, as well as Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), ensuring DAF trucks are registered worldwide in accordance with EC/UNECE regulations. Additionally, you will guarantee that our products remain compliant throughout their entire production lifecycle.
The Standards & Homologation department is responsible for all European engine and vehicle type approvals necessary for the global registration of DAF trucks.
The department ensures DAF remains ahead of future regulatory shifts by issuing Legal Notifications on updated mandates and translating complex legal requirements into actionable data for Engineering.
Additionally, S&H manages DAF’s adherence to the latest international industrial standards (including ISO, IEC, SAE, and DIN), ensuring that development and operations remain both high-quality and cost-efficient.
Your Tasks
- Analyze Impact: Evaluate how engineering changes (both in new projects and current business) affect system certificates and WVTA.
- Regulatory Support: Assist the vehicle development department in verifying the compliance of components and systems during development.
- Plan Tests: Prepare detailed homologation plans in close collaboration with engineering and testing teams.
- Coordinate with Authorities: Align and agree on required type approval activities with technical services and regulatory authorities.
- Negotiate Interpretation: When necessary, negotiate the correct interpretation of legislation with relevant authorities.
- Execute Testing: Write test requests and coordinate/witness homologation tests, providing guidance for technical service inspectors.
- Document Results: Ensure all test data and technical information are accurately recorded according to regulatory standards.
- Compliance Oversight: Provide updated type approval data for the Conformity of Production (COP) compliance program.
In this role, you will report directly to the Manager of Standards & Homologation.

You have:
- Bachelor automotive or mechanical engineering
- Experience with / knowledge of the homologation process
- Experience in testing and validation of vehicles
- Extensive vehicle domain knowledge
