We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic student who loves bridging the gap between computer simulations and hands-on lab work. You are an analytical, critical thinker who enjoys solving complex technical puzzles. Being proactive and driven is in your DNA, and you have the great communication skills needed to thrive both independently and within a global, collaborative team.

• You are enrolled in a Master’s university program pursuing Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related science/engineering discipline.
• You have good communications skills in English.
• You have experience in data processing and computational tools like Python or MATLAB.
• You have critical thinking and analytical problem solving skills.
• You are available to work 40 hours per week for a duration of 6 to 9 months, starting around September 2026.

During this 6-9 month internship, you will step into our Drug Product Development department to work on pioneering lentiviral vector manufacturing. Your main goal is to test and develop a predictive filtration model (TFF) to guide formulation and process development. You won't just sit behind a screen; you will actively jump into the laboratory to run validation experiments, blending data science with real-world research alongside expert scientists.

• Test and develop predictive models for normal and tangential flow filtration (TFF) applied to manufacturing.
• Perform specific experiments in the laboratory for model parameter regression and validation.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to interpret simulation results and align them with business objectives.
• Learn how state-of-the-art gene and cell therapies are manufactured on an industrial scale.
• Gain deep, practical insights into advanced engineering applications within healthcare innovations.

You will join Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Leiden, a global pharmaceutical leader tackling complex healthcare challenges with innovative solutions.
