We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Engine Test Engineer to join our Engine Test Center team. In this role, you will independently prepare, execute, and analyze structured engine tests to support ongoing development projects, collaborating closely with Performance Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.

You independently carry out tests within the Engine Test Center in a structured manner, based on test plans / test sheets assigned to you by the Performance Engineers from development projects via planning.
Together with the Performance Engineers, and occasionally with other members of the development team, you determine the content, objective, and desired results of the test.
You arrange the test object, measuring equipment, and any required assistance, and set up the testing environment to ensure the test runs according to plan.
You are responsible for transferring data and providing intermediate status updates on the test to the Performance Engineers. In consultation, you determine the measuring equipment to be used and the execution, perform initial analyses, and deliver measurement data in an agreed-upon format within the scheduled timeline.
You are responsible for the accuracy, timely calibration, and uniformity of the testing environment in which you work and the measurement equipment entrusted to you.
You provide input for the optimization and automation of control equipment, measuring instruments, and data acquisition, aiming to achieve higher efficiency.
You are responsible for logging component failures or notable events in the logbook accurately, systematically, and in English.

Competenties

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (HTS) in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Six Sigma tools, and experience in the development of DAF diesel engines.
Ability to independently operate and connect assigned complex measuring equipment and test benches.
Software proficiency and ability to work with the software used within the Engine Test Center.
Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure, and fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, combined with strong analytical skills.
An enthusiastic, active, hands-on team player who is independent, eager to learn, inquisitive, and consistently solution-oriented.
