Build a high-performing organization during an AI transformation

As Head of Organization Effectiveness, you shape how bol works, grows, and adapts. You lead a team of 8 subject experts (covering organizational design, transitions, and culture) who translate strategic intent into effective structures, clear accountabilities, and a high-performance culture. Bol’s operating model ensures that when AI reshapes roles and market pressures demand agility, we evolve deliberately rather than reactively. In short, you own the vision and processes that keep our organizational fabric intact as we scale, learn, and mature.
The biggest challenge
Bol is in the midst of several transformations, each contributing to the realization of high-performance ambitions. Among the most visible is the advent of GenAI; AI isn't just changing what we build; it's altering how people work, which skills matter, and how teams collaborate.
You'll partner with the CEO and board on decisions that impact every corner of the organization. While you'll propose and champion operating model changes when you spot inefficiencies, you'll also embrace the model when strategic direction calls for shifts. You'll need to convince stakeholders at all levels that rigorous organizational design and rapid iteration aren't mutually exclusive but essential partners for success.
What you'll do as Head of Organization Effectiveness
As People & Organization Performance's representative in bol's cross-functional transformation team, you'll drive the people dimension of our AI journey. How does AI impact bol's workforce and way of working? How can you guide the organization through this transition? How does AI redefine 'high performance' when it augments or replaces specific types of work? How can we reskill people while their roles evolve? Which new capabilities do we need, and how quickly can we build them?
Success entails coordinating across domains while empowering your team to translate strategic ambitions into concrete workforce plans, skill frameworks, and change initiatives. You’ll ensure all these elements work effectively and reinforce one another. You'll mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering team members’ growth and amplifying team impact. Together, you’ll translate organizational data from engagement surveys, performance metrics, and workforce analytics into actionable recommendations. And you’ll ensure alignment between OE and other strategic enablers, including Cost Effectiveness and Accelerate Tech Impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and lead the organization effectiveness strategy, keeping it aligned with company priorities
- Shape how the AI transformation impacts our workforce, skills, and ways of working
- Drive engagement and culture initiatives that strengthen performance (including Leadership Behaviors)
- Chair the Org Effectiveness Hub, ensuring optimal organizational governance
- Co-own the Job Family Framework and ensure alignment between structure, skills, and development
- Translate organizational data into strategic recommendations and measurable improvements
- Ensure OE alignment with Cost Effectiveness and Accelerate Tech Impact initiatives, in close partnership with the CEO
- Lead, coach and develop 8 experts, fostering high performance and impact

You combine deep organizational design expertise with the agility needed to succeed in rapidly evolving environments. You've built high-performing organizations before. Preferably in the tech sector, at scale-ups that became corporates, or at companies navigating major transformations. You understand that org design isn't about perfect org charts ; it's about enabling the right behaviors at scale, which calls for a deep understanding of the system and what the business needs and how the system should work and co-build this with the business.
You are at ease at all levels of the organization: partnering with the CEO on OE strategies while coaching your team on specific intervention designs? No sweat. You're comfortable addressing the elephant in any room, and diplomatic enough not to alienate stakeholders. Most importantly, you embody the leadership behaviors that define excellence at bol: you grow yourself and others through continuous development, you're obsessed with enabling customer impact through organizational health, and drive measurable improvements. Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Compensation will include a competitive salary based on your relevant work experience. Other terms of employment will be negotiated directly with the client.
