About the company
ASML is a Dutch international high-tech company Which was founded in 1984. It is one of the world's leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment, in particular steppers and scanners for the semiconductor industry. ASML originated from the joint venture of ASM international and Royal Philips.
The head office of ASML is located in Veldhoven (the Netherlands) where research, development, and assembly take place in clean rooms. Main offices are located in the United States of America (Chandler, San Diego, and Wilton) and Taiwan (Hsinchu City). Other offices are spread out in different locations in the USA, Asia and Europe. It has offices in 16 countries and more than 16,500 employees worldwide with 105 nationalities. The main customer groups of ASML are creators of memory and logic chips such as Intel, Samsung, TSMC, and GlobalFoundries who use their product portfolio to manufacture a wide range or semiconductor chips.
Your mission is to ensure that the parts and modules that our design teams need - parts with extreme specifications and extremely small tolerances - will be ready and available the moment we start manufacturing. Unlike most Supply Chain Engineers, you will be involved in the very start of the design and development process, because we need to know months in advance that the performance of the parts we seek are not only possible --- but virtually 100% guaranteed. You will certainly achieve this by insisting on the highest of engineering standards from world-leading suppliers, but also by understanding the technical limitations; and where necessary you will drive co-design initiatives and encourage engineers on both sides to seek alternative solutions.
You will be part of ASML's Development & Engineering (D&E) sector, which is responsible for driving Industrialization into the early design of our products until the product is proven fully qualified for volume production with excellent quality by the supplier. Your main duties will include:
- contributing to the design phase during New Product Introduction (NPI) process, providing feedback on supply chain related design choices, and assure early supplier involvement
- ensuring operational excellence at suppliers leading to proven readiness for volume release using structured processes and methods including statistical analysis tools (SPC)
- ensuring that suppliers adopt and use the state-of-the-art technology to maximize the performance of our machines
- take responsibility for all supplier-related documentation during the development process
- identifying and solving structural problems in depth
- coordinating with your volume - supply chain engineer (SCM) at the start of volume production
Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanics / Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years in a high tech environment, preferably with experience in supply chain engineering closely linked to precision-mechanical design
- trained and experienced with quality systems (preferably Six Sigma Green or Black Belt)
- excellent social and communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
- team player, but can also work well independently
- results-driven / knows how to plan and prioritize well
- likes to work in a challenging and dynamic environment
