At the department of Downstream Processing (DSP), we produce monoclonal antibodies on a large scale for the treatment of several auto-immune diseases. Continuous optimization of production processes is vital. The following processes are being used at DSP: column chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, filtration, virus removal step and in process testing (e.g. HPLC, OD280, pH, conductivity, osmolarity). We are looking for a driven intern to work on our Business Innovation project.

€650 gross per month (based on 40 hours)

  • You are a master's student at a university in the Netherlands;
  • You are following a study focused on Chemical Engineering, Life Science and Technology (or related)
  • You are available for at least 6 months;
  • You are willing to work at least 3 days a week from the Leiden office.

Currently we use a 4 or a 5 day cadence for our cell lines. However, there is an increased need for production of our medicines. Therefore, there is need for accelerated cadence. This project aims to investigate whether it is feasible to start a 3-day cadence for 2 of our cell lines. The second aim is to investigate whether it is feasible to start a 4 day cadence for another cell line. In addition, implementation and testing is part of this project.
