Our teams focus on the discovery, development, manufacture and marketing of vaccines and antibodies to protect people worldwide from infectious diseases.

The Bacterial Vaccines department is working on the discovery- and early development of novel vaccines against bacterial infectious diseases. It strives to address unmet medical needs, such as bacteremia (sepsis) and nosocomial infections. Within this department, the Immunology group evaluates the immunogenicity and efficacy of potential vaccine candidates against several bacterial diseases in animal models. Assays to examine humoral and cellular immune responses are used to generate appropriate scientific data to show proof of concept and thereby enabling vaccine candidates to progress towards clinical phase evaluation.
