For Unilever we are looking for an assistant procurement manager for the category Home Care Europe. It is a fulltime (40 hours per week) temporary position for 6 months and may be prolonged after that.

The assistant procurement manager role has the mission to manage the commercial relationship of selected finished products suppliers, be the first point of contact of the category Home Care Europe, resolve operational procurement issues for the allocated portfolio / suppliers and to support the broader EU CM procurement team on cross-functional topics.

Salary between €3.600 - €4.700 gross per month

As assistant procurement manager you are a self-starter with strong accountability & responsibility standards. You have at least 2-3 years of relevance experience in buying/procurement (ideally in consumer goods / FMCG industry).

  • You are strong on execution, have analytical skills and be pro-active;
  • You are able to present your key findings in a clear way;
  • Fluent in English – spoken & written – strong communication skills;
  • A bachelor or master degree in a relevant study;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a procurement position within an international (FMCG) company;
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills in building relationships with people across functions, geographies and companies;
  • You are able to work independently and virtually;
  • SAP experience is a plus.

In this role you will manage your own set of suppliers, portfolios and projects. You will resolve different escalated operational procurement issues and support different layers in the organisation.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Creating the supplier strategy & end-to-end management;
  • Sourcing strategy & management;
  • Support implementation of innovation projects in cross functional teams;
  • Commercial & Contract Negotiations;
  • Landing year-on-year savings target;
  • Working on upstream sourced materials together with portfolio procurement/operations teams;
  • Supporting Supply Chain landing agility and other strategic programs with responsible suppliers;
  • Supporting PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic and sustainability (SuSo) agendas.
