OPERATIONAL BUYER for Philips Eindhoven
JOB: As our new operational buyer you are responsible for an efficient and effective supply chain of electrical components within a specialized manufacturing environment. Key areas of responsibility exist in ensuring a closed and reliable purchase order cycle: purchase initiation, purchase order processing and purchase aftercare activities.

PInS main customer is Philips that now focusses on the Healthtech continuum, from large complex medical scanners to health and wellness consumer products. Each day brings new challenges as we work in many different projects for a variety of customers, from small and medium enterprises to complex industries like, not only in Philips but for example also semiconductors and solar power. In each phase of the innovation process we can offer the appropriate high-tech service-combination to help our customers’ innovations go to market, fast and efficiently. They can also choose just one specific competence or facility that fits their immediate need.
-Purchase initiation: Proactive intake of purchase needs on their completeness and structure. Modify purchase needs for external sourcing. Obtain quotes and prepare for ordering;
-Purchase Order processing: You ensure sourcing requirements are fully reflected in the Purchase Order. You take ownership for delivery reliability, by creating delivery commitment with suppliers. You pro-actively identify priorities and risks, and anticipates with a solution mindset to prevent hick ups and guarantee a smooth material flow. You ensure clear communication on progress internally and externally;
-Purchase aftercare activities. Manage supply complaints and invoice discrepancies
-Logistics and transportation support
-You have a Bachelor degree or similar level through job experience within operational purchasing. Certification like Nevi are highly appreciated.
-You have a strong drive to deliver high quality work and you operate in an accurate and structured way.
-Personal characteristics such as pro-activeness, service-oriented and taking ownership mentality are truly yours.
-You have good communication and reporting skills and are clearly a team player.
-You’re a self-starter and capable of independent decision making.
-You are experienced with Microsoft office tools. Excel skills are valuable in this function.
-You have basic purchasing knowledge and commercial skills, which provide you good understanding of the operational purchase process, including the do’s and don’ts.
-You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
TEAM: You will be based in the Business Support Office (20 fte) of the Sales and Marketing department of Philips Innovation Services. The BSO provides project support to the internal and external customers of Philips Innovation Services. Your working location will be at our facility on Strijp S in Eindhoven, but could also be at our main location at the High Tech Campus.
